Artist manager Nana Asiamah Hanson, identified as Bulldog in showbiz, finally spoke after being arrested on Monday, January 11, by National Intelligence Bureau (formerly National Bureau of Investigations) operatives.

Bulldog, who was granted bail on Wednesday, was arrested by state security agency officials after he allegedly threatened President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the weekend during a panel debate on UTV’s United Showbiz.

“We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years,” Bulldog fumed during the live TV programme.

Speaking on Okay FM for the first time after his release, Bulldog said his intention was never to threaten the president, but rather to make a case for the collapsed gold dealership company Menzgold’s aggrieved customers.

Bulldog then apologised for his remark, yet again intimated that he did not mean that the President was ill.

Over the years, Bulldog has become regarded as a staunch opponent of the government of Akufo-Addo, as he has criticized the president’s handling of affairs on many occasions.

As some took to social media to call for his immediate release, his detention caused divided opinion, while others prayed for him to be disciplined for his acts.
