Sadiq Abdulai Abu and his 3Music Awards crew raised the bar so high at the 4th edition yesterday that award shows and even virtual shows can only be held to same or higher standards.

When it wrapped up, the 3Music Awards 21 hosted by Jay Foley and Naa Ashorko saw Medikal emerge as the Most Streamed Act of the Year as well as the Hiplife/hiphop Act of the Year.

The Kumerica craze had stellar representation with four awards. While Yaw Tog scooped the Hip-hop Song of the Year trophy with his ‘Sore’ monstrous hit, Dead Peepol walked away as the Best Group.

DJ Aroma went home as the DJ of the Year while the phenomenon which came to be known as Kumericans bagged the Fan Army of the Year gong.

King Promise won the Male Vocalist trophy with Anadwo off Sarkodie’s Black Love album.

After a lull and resurgence, Keche bagged Best Collaboration of the Year with No Dulling ft. Kuami Eugene.

Larusso emerged the Reggae Dancehall Act of the Year beating Jah Lead, Ras Kuuku, Epixode, Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to the trophy.

Kidi having put in work scooped EP of the Year with BLUE, Afrobeats/AfroPop Song of the Year with Enjoyment, Song of the Year with Enjoyment and Artiste of the Year.

Mr. Drew emerged the Breakthrough Act. David Nicol-Sey has come up for special praise for the crisp performance videos we’ve all witnessed. Nicol-Sey who runs the North Production has executed music videos and Ads for big music names such as Sarkodie, M.anifest , Samini, Edem, Ice Prince, R2bees, 4×4, VVIP, King Promise and corporate Ghana.

Kuami Eugene emerged the Highlife Act of the Year while Stonebwoy’s ‘Sobolo’ got the Highlife Song of the Year.

The Gospel Act of the Year was Diana Hamilton while her Adom (Grace) also won the Gospel Song of the Year. Diana Hamilton again got Best Female Vocal Performance.

Davido was the African Act of the Year while Eno Barony became the Rapper of the Year.

Worlasi got the Best Alternative Song (Best Alte) with his ‘Comot’ songwhileKofi Mole got the Most Streamed Song of the Year with ‘Y’abr3.’

Sarkodie with his CEEK Performance earned the Performer of the Year.

Adina Thembi was Woman of the Year whiles her ‘Why’ song earned Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year trophy. Singer of the moment Gyakie got named Emerging Woman of the Year.
