Poetry: Rough Road

December 12, 2021

Rough Road

I  know not what lies ahead

Though I heard

It has gotten tough

My feet weared

From earth hardened

There seem a light at the end

 The further I push

the more the shreds of the bush

 Appear dense

With an end intense

It baffles my sense

So I will , hence

Pause to rest

To test

My remaining strength

This trek I shall proceed with

Of life’s many choices

And death’s icy noises

Giving up isn’t attractive

Nor lucrative

With intentions pure

Yet I’m not sure

Of the outcomes

For there are “shortcomes”

In Pense I arrived

And my lense deprived

And my gown with scents

In a town with cents

Greener pastures I seek
