The Diaspora African Forum (DAF) will hold a ceremony for Ismail Nii-Kpakpoh Botchway as the embassy’s Special Youth Envoy on Wednesday, 7th June 2023 at the DAF Embassy inside the historic W.E.B DuBois Centre.
This event is Ismail’s manhood rites of passage after he was enstooled as Chief Nii Oko Berimah II by Nii Oko Berimah I, the Chief of the Sempe Region Moslems alongside his mother; Nicole Colbert- Botchway who was installed as
Queen Mother Naa Adoley Onorji Onor on May 28, 2023.
His mother, Judge Nicole Colbert-Botchway is a seasoned Judge who was appointed to the Missouri 22nd Judicial Circuit, City of St. Louis, on July 2, 2015. She was retained by the Missouri voters in 2016 and 2020. Nicole has over twenty years of litigation experience in criminal, domestic, business and civil litigation along with a thorough understanding of the law, its practice and procedure. Her hard work and dedication gained her the achievement of being elected as the First African American President of Women Lawyers Association of Greater St. Louis (2009), President of the Mound City Bar Association (2013) and Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis Board Member and Presidential Liaison (2014).
