NDDC Local Post-Graduate Scholarship 2025/2026 Now Open
For 25 years, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has stood firm on its mission — promoting equity, peace and prosperity across the Niger Delta region. From community projects to educational support, the Commission has worked tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of the people.
As part of this legacy, the NDDC is once again inviting qualified young graduates to apply for its Local Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic session. This scholarship is specially designed to boost human resource development in the Niger Delta, by empowering young people with advanced knowledge and practical skills to play an active role in Nigeria’s Local Content Programme and to be globally competitive.
The NDDC Local Post-Graduate Scholarship is a golden opportunity for deserving indigenes of the Niger Delta to pursue Master’s Degree programs in top Nigerian universities. By investing in postgraduate education, the Commission aims to build a stronger, well-trained generation that will drive development in their communities and the country at large.
Eligible courses
The scholarship is open to students who have secured admission to study disciplines like Agricultural Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geosciences, Humanities, Information Technology, Law, Management and Social Sciences, and Medical Sciences.

To be eligible for the 2025/2026 Local Master’s Scholarship, applicants must be indigenes of the Niger Delta Region (from Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo or Rivers States). They must not be older than 40 years of age at the time of application. How to apply
To apply, visit the official NDDC website at www.nddc.gov.ng, locate the scholarship application link and register online. Fill in your details truthfully and upload all required documents in the specified formats. Once you submit your form, a registration number will be automatically generated — print out your acknowledgment slip for your own records.
Selection process
The scholarship selection process is strict but fair and will follow these stages: Online Application through the NDDC portal, Preliminary Shortlisting based on WASSCE/NECO results, degree classification and valid Local Government Identification, then a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at designated centers in Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States. You must choose your preferred test location during registration. To proceed, you must score at least 70% in the CBT. Candidates who meet the CBT cut-off will be shortlisted for an oral interview. Successful candidates will then be verified by their Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs) before the final award.
Application deadline
The deadline for submitting your application is July 20, 2025. Don’t wait until the last minute — submit your application early to avoid last-minute mistakes or network issues!
Important notes
The NDDC will not communicate with applicants who do not make it to the CBT or interview stage. Preference will be given to qualified candidates from oil producing host communities/local government areas, provided they meet the cut-off mark. Candidates cannot defer, change course or change institution after being awarded. The Commission’s final selection decision is absolute and binding.
