Abass, who returned to Mainz in June 2020 after a successful loan spell with Utrecht has struggled for playing time this season with the Bundesliga fold, he has featured in just 2 league games.
The pacey winger will now be returning to Netherlands, but this time with FC Twente for more playing minutes.
“It’s great that we have Issah Abass in the selection. Abass is a strong and fast striker who can also play on the sides. He is an energetic boy with a very good drive. As soon as the work permit is in place, he can join the group,” technical director Jan Streuer said after the move.
Issah Abass in the past represented Asokwa Deportivo and NK Olimpija.
He was a member of the team that represented Ghana at the U-23 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2019 in Egypt.
